IT Center for Science (CSC), Finland, has chosen
Safewhere*protect for SharePoint combined with Safewhere*SAML for
WIF to guard access to their new data warehouse solution based on
Microsoft SharePoint 2010.

CSC provides IT support and resources for academia, research
institutes and companies: modeling, computing and information
services. CSC provides Finland's widest selection of scientific
software and databases and Finland's most powerful supercomputing
environment.

With this new solution CSC will be able to provide SharePoint
based reporting services to all participants in the Finish SAML 2.0
federation, the Haka federation. Also, Safewhere*protect for
SharePoint, allows CSC to partition content and functionality based
on combinations of attributes, such as organization and
role.

Close to 150 people attended the May 19 half day seminar by
PricewaterhouseCoopers, Microsoft, and Safewhere on Access
Management for SharePoint.

Not only did the size of the crowd indicate a need, but very
positive feedback from attendees shows that the observations and
solutions laid out in the presentations were very relevant and very
well received.

Seminar presentations included:

SharePoint as Internet Portal, by Jesper Herp,
Solution Specialist, Microsoft

Security Challenges and Solution Patterns, by Martin
Povelsen, Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers

SharePoint as a B2B Pension Fund Portal, by Rolf
Kjøller, Enterprise Architect, Forca

Authentication and Access Control, by Niels
Flensted-Jensen, CEO, Safewhere

High Value Seminar

Based on feedback from participants the seminar was very well
received and a very large majority found the sessions to be of high
value.

The focused agenda of the seminar and the high value content
presented, have proved to be a strong validation of Safewhere's
mission to deliver Next Generation Access Management in
close collaboration with leading platform vendors as well as
leading security partners
